The Toothbrush was invented in 1498. Do give a thought to what people were using before that!Norwegian inventor Johan valler patented his paper clip in 1899. He had to travel to Germany to receive his patent because Norway had no patent laws!In 1938, Teflon was discovered. It's use as a non-stick coating has brought cooking pleasure to many a housewife since!The world's first VCR made in 1956 was the size of a piano!
The eyeglass was invented by the Chinese way back in time. In fact Marco Polo reported it's use in 1275 A.D.At the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, Richard Blechyden, an Englishman, found no takers for hot tea on a very hot day. So he served the tea cold and iced tea was born!

FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF THE INDIA.

 NEHRU WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 14, 1889 IN ALLAHABAD, UTTAR PRADESH. BORN WITH THE PROVERBIAL SILVER SPOON, JAWAHARLAL HAD A WESTERN UPBRINGING AND STUDIED IN THE FAMOUS HARROW SCHOOL AND TRINITY COLLEGE IN ENGLAND. IN 1916, AT THE AGE OF 27, JAWAHARLAL MARRIED KAMALA KAUL AND THE FOLLOWING YEAR SAW THE BIRTH OF THEIR ONLY CHILD INDIRA PRIYADARSHINI. AFTER AN INITIAL BRUSH WITH LEGAL PRACTICE, JAWAHARLAL NEHRU JOINED THE INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS AND STARTED HIS POLITICAL CAREER UNDER THE TUTELAGE OF FATHER MOTILAL NEHRU.AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL CHAMPARAN AND KHEDA SATYAGRAHAS, MAHATMA GHANDI EMERGED AS THE UNDISPUTED LEADER OF THE MASSES AND NEHRU SOON BECAME ONE OF HIS TRUSTED AIDES. UNDER GHANDHIS INFLUENCE NEHRU SHUNNED HIS WESTERN LIFESTYLE AND TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY TO GARNER RESISTANCE AGAINST THE BRITISH. THROUGH THE 1920s JAWAHARLAL NEHRU EARNED ACCOLADES FOR HIS PASSIONATE ANTI-BRITISH STANCE AND WAS ELECTED CONGRESS PARTY PRESIDENT IN THE 1929 LAHORE SESSION.NEHRU PLAYED A PROMINENT ROLE IN THE 1930 SALT SATYAGRAHA LAUNCHED BY GHANHI AND WHEN CONGRESS CALLED FOR THE HISTORIC QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT IN 1942, HE AND SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE WERE AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE MASS PROTESTS AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. THE MOMENT OF FREEDOM HAS ARRIVED AND AFTER SOME INTERNAL CONFLICTS IN THE CONGRESS PARTY  NEHRU WAS CHOSEN AS THE HEAD OF THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT. HE TOOK OFFICE AS THE FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA ON AUGUST 15, 1947.AS INDEPENDENT INDIA'S PRIME MINISTER, JAWAHARLAL NEHRU LAUNCHED A SERIES OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL INITIATIVES IN LINE WITH HIS VISION OF SOCIALIST INDIAN NATION. APART FROM DOMESTIC ISSUES,  NEHRU EMPHASIZED ON FORGING ALLIANCES WITH OTHER LIKE-MINDED COUNTRIES AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN FOUNDING THE NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT. THE 1962 CHINESE INVASION OF INDIA'S NORTH EASTERN STATES WAS A BIG SETBACK TO NEHRU'S PEACEFUL POLICIES AND HIS GOVERNMENT ALSO HAD TO FACE CORRUPTION CHARGES. AFTER A PERIOD OF ILLNESS, PANDIT NEHRU PASSED AWAY ON MY 27, 1964.

MARTIN LUTHER KING

Intelligent, dedicated, and talented, Martin Luther King had what it took to inspire and instill a sense of rightness in the hearts and minds of those who heard him speak. On 28 August 1963 Martin Luther King organized an unforgettable March to Washington and delivered one of the most powerful speeches against racism. This speech renowned as "I Have a Dream" is a moving speech about racial equality and peace.Martin Luther King was a champion of peace and an American clergyman who struggled for the rights of African Americans and freedom for all people. He is renowned for his leadership in the American civil rights movement of the 1960s. He is also well known to have led a protest against the way African Americans were treated unfairly on buses. At that time, the African Americans had to sit at the back of the bus separated from white people. The 382- day bus boycott campaign launched by King led the bus company to change its regulations, and the U.S. Supreme court declared the bus company's discriminating seating policy unconstitutional.King visited India in1959 and was inspired by the nonviolent methods used by Mahatma Gandhi against the British in India. He became convinced that such methods would be of great significance to the American civil rights movement. In his autobiography king said, "As a result of my visit to India, my understanding of non-violence became greater and my commitment deeper. He opposed discrimination against African Americans by organizing nonviolent resistance and peaceful mass demonstrations. Soon he became a famed international figure who stood for equality among people of all races and creeds. For his fearless faith in unarmed struggle, the king was awarded the Nobel peace prize for the year 1964.

Some research has also shown there are eye health benefits from eating fish high in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut. And also eating green chili and pulses are beneficial for the eyes.MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT.   Being overweight or obese increases your risk of developing diabetes and other systemic conditions, which can lead to vision loss, such as diabetic eye disease glaucoma. If you are having trouble maintaining a healthy weight, talk to your doctor.GIVE YOUR EYES A REST. If you spend a lot of time at the computer or focusing on any one thing, you sometimes forget to blink, and your eyes can get fatigued. Try the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds. This can help reduce eyestrain.
